  1. Secrets

From the album Preposthumous

Hummingbirds keep no secrets,
Don’t ask me how I know,
Hovering, they whisper
The tidbits they’ve been told.
So if you’ve got a secret
That you would rather keep,
Don’t tell it to the hummingbirds,
Not even in your sleep.

Don’t confide in the bumblebee,
So busy in the spring,
To get around the flowers
He’d tell them anything.
Secrets, by their nature,
Are restless when they’re new,
How will I keep from telling
I’m in love with you?
